Asus – Eee Pc Netbook

Published by LaptopsPoint, on Jun 16 2010, in the categories: Asus

I have been asked to talk about an Asus- EEE PC netbook. Read my other reviews on Asus- EEE PC netbook. Today I will review another Asus model.

We also wanted to try the performance of the operating system preinstalled Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium. Performance index had a total of 5.0. For individual components, View scored 5.4 for the CPU, the RAM to 5.9, 5.0 for the GPU in applications, 5.3 for the GPU in gaming and 5.2 points for the mass storage Hitachi (Hitachi HTS543232L9A (320 GB)).

It works with 5400 rpm, and has capacity of 320 GB dovrebero be adequate to store photos, music, movies, and play. With the eSATA connection can expand the storage capacity with an external hard drive if necessary.

Although the Asus M50V was created with the aim of a multimedia notebook, the built-in hardware is very powerful, offering good performance in the gaming segment. With a Core 2 Duo T9400 2.5 GHz clocking a graphics card NVIDIA GeForce 9650M with 1024 MB VRAM, four GB of RAM and a 320 GB hard drive, the notebook has everything you need to play - and this is demonstrated by the 3DMark and the following benchmark tests.

Dated in 3DMark01 and 3DMark03 benchmark tests of Futuremark, the M50V got a score of 25,005 and 13,117 and showed no problems. 3DMark05 and 3DMark06 have rewarded the Asus M50V with 8370 and 4194 points. The new 3DMark Vantage would be indicative, but for reasons we cannot explain this benchmark testing was not performed and the test is terminated with an error message.

Now we turn to quality practices in the gaming dell'M50V. "Doom 3" was carried out smoothly as silk and stable with an average of 56.4 frames per second setting "Ultra", which is completely suitable for a satisfactory game play.

The benchmark tool built into "Crysis" was performed with 1024 x 768 resolution and details of low, medium and high. One thing is certain: the heavy "Crysis" is really only playable with lower settings to 51.73 and 49.68 fps for the GPU to the CPU. Average images with details down to just 22:49 (value for the GPU) and 21. 72 (value for the CPU) - still playable but not smooth. The GeForce 9650M GT has finally provided a frame rates between 11 and 12 fps with high details.

Finally, the Asus M50V was tested with real-time strategy game "World in Conflict." With medium details (DX9) at 800x600 resolution was possible an average of 48 frames per second. Passing the resolution from 800x600 to 1024x768, the fps has dropped from 48 to 39 frames per second, which still allows for a smooth gameplay. Even at 1680 x1050 get a satisfactory value of 26 fps with DireckX9. A high detail, only possible with DirectX 10, the GeForce 9650M GT cannot handle more than 20 frames per second with a resolution of 800x768.
